MVES - Thank you to everyone who participated in Parent Teacher Conferences tonight. Thank you to Save the Children for providing free books for our students tonight!

MVES - Second graders made leprechaun trap snacks today. They also created their own bugs and measured them in inches.

MVES - As we head into Spring Break, remember:
*Reading has it's rewards!
*Brush your teeth!! (Gotta love the AR Points Store treasures.)
*HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!

MVES - We hope your St. Patrick's Day was as great as ours has been today!

MVES - First graders spent St. Patrick’s Day finding money amounts at the end of our rainbows and comparing coin collections!🍀

MVES - After a week of learning about plant life cycles, Mrs. Adams' first grade class used bell peppers to stamp four-leaf clovers in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!

MVES - Leprechauns were everywhere today!!! Second graders stacked and measured “fool’s gold” towers, then created forts to protect their "gold” from leprechauns.

MVES - A leprechaun left math riddles for us to solve in order to discover the hidden treasure in our room for St. Patrick’s Day! We had to add groups of tens and ones to find all the missing pieces!

MVES - Nothing like celebrating St. Patrick's Day by going on a leprechaun hunt and strengthening our visual skills!

MVES - Ms. Hughes' fourth grade GT class worked with the first 100 digits of Pi to celebrate Pi Day!

MVES - According to Dr. Seuss, "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."
Thank you for taking a moment to make a memory at our Save the Children Dr. Seuss Story Walk!

MVES - Nothing like ending Read Across America week watching a magician in your pjs!! We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

MVES - Truffula Tree STEM Challenge

MVES - Along with the fun of dressing up for Read Across America, we are also learning in fun ways.
Today, our 4th graders did the Truffula Tree STEM Challenge! Students used the available materials to build a Truffula Tree that stood at least 15 cm high without leaning. They could also eat their design when finished.
(Who can guess what the favorite direction was from that challenge?)

MVES - Apparently, the Cat in the Hat brought his "Wig-o-lator" to Mountain View Elementary today!

MVES - As we continue celebrating Read Across America this week, we enjoyed Wacky Wednesday yesterday and Crazy Hair like every Who from Whoville today!

MVES - The Save the Children Dr. Seuss StoryWalk scheduled for Thursday, March 2 has been rescheduled due to the impending weather forecast. It will now be held on Monday, March 6 at the court square from 5-7 p.m. we hope to see you there!!!

MVES - Our fourth graders "read across the school" with our kindergartners as we celebrate Read Across America!
Who did you read with today? Because you know...
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
Dr Seuss - I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!

MVES - "Look at me! Look at me!
Look at me NOW! It is fun to have fun,
but you have to know how."
Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat
It was all stripes and hats today as we celebrate Read Across America this week!

MVES - We are celebrating Read Across America & Dr. Seuss all week. Looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up this week!
