MVES - April has been a busy month!! We started out the month with a visit from the University of Arkansas as Mountain View Elementary was chosen by the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards for the Arkansas Reads Program. The recent visit from Chancellor Charles Robinson, Dr. Suzanne McCray, and the UofA team was a moment of inspiration for MVES. We are deeply grateful for the generous donation of over 8,000 books, as well as the much-appreciated Expo markers for our teachers! Our students were gifted with commemorative t-shirts. These gifts will make a lasting impact on our students and in our classrooms. Our students continue to prove they can Beat the Odds!

MVES - Mountain View Elementary School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school that is Beating the Odds by receiving the High Math Growth (Northeast region) award. This award was earned by MVES students, who demonstrated significant growth in math on the Arkansas Testing, Learning, & Assessment System (ATLAS) exams, even though the school serves a high percentage of students who participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch program. This award is a testament of our students' hard work, our teachers' dedication, and our parents' support. We appreciate each of you and give you all the honor in this award!

MVES - We had a little leprechaun treating our teachers the past few days as they had to search for the "pot of gold" each day to receive a "treasure"! Thank you, Mrs. Jennifer Hinston and little Aurora for treating our teachers to a treasure hunt and goodies for all! You are both a treasure at the end of the rainbow!

MVES - What better way to end a PJ Friday than turn it to a Truffula Tree Fri-Yay as our fourth graders did to end Read Across America Week.

MVES - Mrs. Turner's second graders learned about chemical reactions as they mixed different ingredients to make bouncy balls that actually bounced! Students measured various ingredients, mixed concoctions that were easy to stir and some that were more challenging. As you can see, everyone had an all-around fun time!
