MVES - Students in Mrs. Robinson's class investigated the use of festive materials to see who could build the tallest "Shelf for their Elf." J.J. Kniss created the tallest structure, measuring in at 6 1/2 inches tall. Then students predicted if marshmallows would melt faster in cold, warm, or hot water. They discovered that heat causes molecules to gain energy, thus melting the sugars in the marshmallows.

Mountain View School District would like to thank Save the Children for allowing us to distribute 770 food boxes, Flatwoods Baptist Church for the use of their parking lot, and the many volunteers that helped during the distribution last Friday. The boxes were filled with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and dairy products. We will continue to distribute through the month of December. Due to an increase number of COVID-19 cases and close contacts within the Mountain View School District, we will be going to blended learning days, tomorrow Thursday, December 3rd and Friday, December 4th, allowing students the option of doing their classwork from home. Students and or parents will be able to pick up meals from 1:15 to 2:30 Thursday, December 3rd for both days. We hope this will help slow the cases in our schools, and we appreciate your patience as we all deal with this pandemic. This will include all Mountain View campuses and the Timbo campus..

The Rural Special campuses will pivot to virtual learning this week. Beginning tomorrow, all Rural Special students will log into Google classroom via their chrome books. No on site learning will take place on the Rural Special campuses through December 4th. Meals for the week will be distributed Monday from 1:30 until 3 PM behind the cafeteria. Thank You.

Mountain View School Food Pantry, along with North Arkansas Food Bank and Save the Children, have had an opportunity to work together in a effort to provide for our students' families. Boxes with pantry items will be distributed on Wednesday, October 14 from 5:00 - 6:00. The distribution sites will be at First Baptist Church and Flatwoods Baptist Church. Due to the limitations, boxes will be dispersed on a first come, first serve basis. Boxes will be limited to one per family of any Mountain View School District student.

The Mountain View School District will not be in session on Friday, October 9 so that students and staff may attend funeral services of a Mountain View School District student that are taking place that day. Again, the Mountain View School District will not be in session on Friday, October 9th.

The Mountain View School District will be having PreK-12 grade New Student Registration starting on Tuesday, August 4 and continuing on Wednesday, August 5th.
Registration will be from 8 AM until Noon and from 1 PM until 3 PM at the Mountain View Campus, Rural Special Campus and the Timbo Campus.
For MVES you will go to the front entrance. For MVMS and MVHS, you should report to Yellowjacket Hall.
Rural Special new students should report to the cafeteria at RSHS and Timbo new students should report to the counselors office.

Due to Governor Asa Hutchinson's decision to delay the start of the school year until August 26th, the Mountain View School District has extended registration for the digital learning platform until August 1st. While your decision to commit to the virtual platform is not final, the August 1st deadline will give the district an approximation of how many students to plan for not only the virtual platform, but for onsite learning as well.

The School Board Meeting for March 16 has been canceled.

Due to the Governor's announcement during today's press conference concerning the closure of public schools because of COVID-19, there will be no school or school activities for the Mountain View School District beginning tomorrow, March 16th. We will be utilizing our five AMI days this week. School will resume after spring break on March 30th.

The Arkansas Activities Association has canceled state championship games for this weekend. At this time there has been no reschedule date. We will get information out as it becomes available.
